Headed “Up North” in Minnesota this summer? This post has gluten-free places that are worth stopping for along the way — even if traffic is bad.

Should a daycare be providing your child a gluten-free diet if you request it (and a doctor prescribes it)? You are paying hundreds of dollars each week or month in tuition right, so shouldn’t these medically-necessary diets be accommodated? The answer is …both yes and no.

A great gluten-free egg bake recipe for Easter.

I can think of many reasons why a person on a gluten-free diet should have frozen entrees available to them: work lunch, not a good cook, a safe back-up plan when you’re going over to have dinner with friends who are well-meaning but may not get the whole “gluten-free thing”. Whatever your reason, this gluten-free pasta is tasty and worth having in your freezer.

Gluten Free 4 U offers a boutique-style store, without the high prices and with a huge selection of products. The new Woodbury, Minnesota store is open for business. It might be worth a look.

I’m getting ready for a big weekend.  My brother, who’s recently gluten-free (diagnosed with celiac disease last June), is coming into town with his family.  He lives in Duluth, which has some gluten-free dining options.  But it is nothing compared to the boom that the Twin Cities area has seen in the last year. So we’re hitting some new places in the Twin Cities.  Tonight we’re going to out for pizza at Michello’s.  I reviewed it last month.  It is a new restaurant in Blaine with gluten-free pizza, pasta, beer, dessert!  This may be the first time my brother’s gone out for pizza since his diagnosis. Then Saturday its off to Tailor Made Nutrition/Gluten Free 4 U — a new store that has opened in Woodbury, which is an eastern suburb of the Twin Cities.  I haven’t been to the store yet, but I am looking forward to seeing it.  I plan to take pictures and tell you all about it early next week! Should be a great weekend of new gluten-free discoveries!  I hope yours is too!

An adventure in gluten-free potlucking! Amy brings gluten-free options to church supper. But did anyone eat it?

Got a craving for gluten-free chocolate cake? I found a great one if you’re ever in downtown St. Paul.
