Welcome to The Savvy Celiac. Where we help smart people become savvy gluten free consumers.

Meeting a group at a restaurant that may not be gluten-free friendly is tough, but you may be able to make it work. Here’s how I handled the “prep work” today before a dinner tonight…I’ll follow up with how it went.

Even knowing that infertility, osteoporosis, cancer and more can all be a result of untreated celiac disease, what causes a celiac to turn away from the very diet that could prevent all of these ailments? Was it gluten free or not? With cell phone camera in hand, I investigated right in the middle of the store.

Another Chex cereal makes it to the shelves as a newly reformulated gluten-free cereal! This time Cinnamon Chex. How did it taste?? Find out…

New research into what could cause various cancers, gives new insight into a possible way to detect celiac disease, colitis and Crohn’s disease much earlier.
