Celebrating One Year of Celiac Savvy

by | G+ Amy Leger

The anniversary quietly went by on October 17th.  It marked one year since my first blog post on www.thesavvyceliac.com.  I think I had an inkling I would like doing this – but I didn’t know I would love it!  I have learned a lot from the studies I’ve reported on, but what I’ve learned most is there is always a story to be had.

Many of you have been reading my blog for the last year, but for those of you who may have missed  those early months.  I do have some favorite posts I wanted to share with you:

Gluten-Free Cake Tragedy Brings Back Emotions — This is when our puppy at the gluten-free cake off the counter.

Survey Reveals Top Symptoms of Undiagnosed Celiac Disease — I liked this post because I conducted the survey on my own and it led to some very interesting results.

25 Random Things about Celiac Disease — Using the “25 Random Things….” idea off of Facebook, this ended up being a popular post

A Mother’s Reflections of Raising a Child With Celiac — A purely cathartic experience writing this.  It brought both joy to my heart and tears to my eyes

There are 273 other great posts from this last year as well.  If you’re a late-comer to The Savvy Celiac, feel free to dig deep and read up on some of these posts that are educational, relatable, and maybe even a little entertaining (sometimes all at the same time, and sometimes not).

While you’re perusing, you may notice I’ve slowed down a touch in the number of posts I’ve done (although 277 posts in a year I think is pretty good).  Some things have changed in the last year – Ida, our exchange student went back home, my husband was laid off and 6 months later was re-employed, I now have two part time jobs, plus I teach an occasional class, help with soccer, kids’ stuff, and now I am starting to help with fund raising for my daughter’s trip to France and England.  Through it all I remain dedicated to The Savvy Celiac and I look forward to my next 277 posts and beyond.

As always, if you have a question or a celiac-related subject you’d like me to explore, feel free to email me at amy@thesavvyceliac.com. I’m looking forward to the next year!
